End of the Year Book Survey: 2017 Edition!


Hi friends! It's the end of 2017 and, as always, I procrastinated doing this lovely survey created Jamie @ The Perpetual Page-Turner!

I love surveys and I love books so this is literally the best thing I could be doing at this very moment. 2017 also happened to be a good year for me, reading wise, and I'm excited to answer ALL THE THINGS about it! Please note that all graphics were made by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner, and I am only using them for this survey!

Warcross by Marie Lu. Hands down

Mafiosa by Catherine Doyle

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read? 
Starflight & Firebug—I wasn't expecting those books to be so much fun!

I am not sure if many people did, but I've pushed Warcross, Heartstone, and Emma Mills' books a lot

5. Best series you started in 2017? Best Sequel of 2017? Best Series Ender of 2017?
Best series: lmao Warcross, but because I don't want to sound like a broken record, The Last Namsara sounds like a promising series
Sequel: I really enjoyed The Shadow Weave & Pyromantic
Finale: A Conjuring of Light & Wayfarer
6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2017? 
Emma Mills

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone? 
I always say I don't "typically" read contemporary, but that's a lie. I've read a few mystery/thrillers (I don't nearly read enough of those) and really liked Hunting Prince Dracula

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year? 
Warcross, of course. Also, all of Annette Marie's books

Heartstone and To Kill a Kingdom. And... First & Then

Ezra! From First & Then, because I just ADORE HIM. But also James from The Hearts We Sold

 All of Emma Mills' books, To Kill a Kingdom, Night of Cake & Puppets. Oh! And Royals, it was such a blast

A Conjuring of Light, what the ACTUAL fuck @ that book tho

27. Hidden Gem Of The Year? 
Victoria Leybourne's book, tbh. I ADORED The Rose and the Mask and The Murano Glass Slipper

I don't know... maybe Stardust? It was a dramatised audiobook sooo

Not really a blog, but... just bookstagram in general! I tried (emphasis on tried) to post more on insta (my photos are Trash (tm)) but I've come across a lot of beautiful accounts!

My review for Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills!

3. Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog? 
My post about the reasons you should read Warcross!

4. Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)? 
Ooooh, I participated in several blog tours and cover reveals this year! Also the recent Top Top of 2017 was super fun

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2017? 
I got books sent to me by the publisher!!

6. Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year? 
The actual blogging part? I'm sort of bad at uh... posting.. on time....

I actually do not know and I like to not check views so I don't get discouraged lol

1. One Book You Didn’t Get To In 2017 But Will Be Your Number 1 Priority in 2018? 
Ummm.... I want to say This Savage Dawn and The Dire King, but I've been saying those for a long, long time. Right now, I just hope I manage to finish The City of Brass lol

2. Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2018 (non-debut)? 
Vengeful by V.E. Schwab

3. 2018 Debut You Are Most Anticipating? 
I think Dark of the West & Blood and Sand

4. Series Ending/A Sequel You Are Most Anticipating in 2018? 
Lots of sequels! Renegades #2, Warcross #2, Vengeful, Splendor and Spark, Whisper of the Tide (those last two are also series enders!), and uhhh The Blood Curse

Post more discussions and reviews!
