{ Recap } March Edition

Happy April! I hope that winter finally goes away and we get more sun this month! Now: a look back into March!

March, oddly, felt like 3 separate months. It felt like too many things happened in this one month, and in true Mith fashion, I remember little to nothing about it.

Some of the good things: I still have not gotten into a slump. Go me! Three straight months of solid reading, and it's been a good month.

I started writing. Like. Really writing—I actually got to 20k and wow. That's the most I've gotten to on any project. I've stopped for the last week and a half or so, but I hope to get back to it soon.

I reached 420k—okay, FINE. 421k. My childish goal was taken away. 120k magic defence; 105k defence. What elseee, hmm... I don't know guys, this took a really long time and I'm kind of proud, to be honest.

I got into audiobooks! I was always picky about them for some reason, but now that I've gotten into them, I can't stop listening. I want to keep listening. I think I found my new obsession. Send help.

Now, the important thing: the reads!

the reads

Three months into the year, and each month, I have read 16 books. i don't know what's up with this number, but, I want to continue. It will be 100% impossible but I want to try.

Whisper of the Tide by Sarah Tolcser ♫ ♫ ♫  }
Pacifica by Kristen Simmons ♫ ♫ ♫  }
Grim Lovelies by Megan Shepherd ♫ ♫ ♫ }

Little White Lies by Jennifer Lynn Barnes ♫ ♫ ♫  }
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫  }
Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi ♫ ♫ }

Catching Stars by Cayla Keenan ♫ ♫ ♫  ♪ }
The Blood Curse by Annette Marie ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫  }

(I didn't read these back to back to back but I wanted them next to each other, lol)

Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ }
Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray ♫ ♫ ♫   }

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫  }
Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios ♫ ♫ ♫  }

10 is still my main goal—technically, though I tell myself it's 15, lmao.

other posts

I tried to make up for my lying self and "look for" posts in March. I don't know if I actually did—it's only in these recaps that I actually notice what's been up in the past month, sooo. Here's what you might've missed!

resolution update

This, indeed, is another New Thing™. I didn't sign up officially for the Beat the Backlist challenge this year, but that doesn't mean I'm not actively participating. Reading a backlist (or two! if I can manage) a month is one of my bookish resolutions, along with reading a physical book and a new monthly release (excluding rereads).

I'm so proud of myself. I did it again!

recent happenings

I've decided that this section will be a little look into my personal life and what I was up to, other than reading, during the past month.

{ music }

Lol, okay, though. Honestly, I am excited because it's been so long! Their two singles—Say Amen and Silver Lining, are already amazing and catchy and I love them.

Shawn Mendes has a few new songs out but I only really like one of them—In My Blood, which isn't something normally I'd like by him, but it definitely grew on me!

{ netflix / tv }

Like most people earlier this month, I binge-watched Jessica Jones. Unlike most people, I did not finish because I got tired after staying up for goddamn hours and then when I was more well rested and clear headed, I decided I did not like it. It did not even begin to compare to season 1. It did Trish and Malcolm dirty and Jessica was regular old Jessica, because what the fuck is character development, you know?

I didn't care. I don't care. It's so sad. I really loved the first season.

{ life }

I have been craving fries a lot. That's really it, lol.

I mentioned this before but I began writing! Not the Jayna story, which I'd titled The Opposite of Love. This one I keep calling Secret WIP even though it's not a secret anymore. I don't know what else to call it, though I've been trying to title it something else.

Here is a snippet? Maybe? I don't know. Here.

And... here is something that my friends freaked out over, lmao

I hope to continue!! I'm like cautiously excited over it.

anticipated reads

Honestly, I don't have many anticipated reads this month. Turns out, I'd read most of them! The only one I'm excited about is this one—

Anyway! Here are some of the books you guys should be excited about!

new covers

Yaaaaaay, new covers! I feel like March revealed a lot of good ones. As usual, I'm too lazy to link the books. But here you go!

Clicking on the image will make it bigger.

And if you want to view more reveals, here is my

March in a nutshell! What books are you excited for in April? What good books did you love in March?

  1. You did so much this month! Congratulations on your writing, 20k is a lot! I can't wait to hear about what you're writing. Also, audiobooks are the best and really the only way I can keep up with reading right now.

    I hope you have an amazing April!

    Thanks for sharing,

    1. Ahhh, thank you so much Brittany! I hope you have a wonderful April, too!
